Peaceful camping in a beautiful meadow on this working Exmoor farm, National Trust Holnicote Estate

I'm delighted to let you know that we'll be offering the opportunity to enjoy peaceful, spacious camping on this farm during 2024!

Porlock Vale Campsite - Peaceful camping for adults (16 +) available from 12 July to 8 September. Spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, forestry and moorland.

Porlock Vale Campsite - Enjoy this peaceful pop up campsite in a beautiful, spacious 9 acre farmland meadow at Holt Ball Farm, on the National Trust Holnicote Estate in Exmoor National Park.

There are spectacular, panoramic views towards North Hill and Selworthy Forest, Hurlestone Point and Grabbist. Behind the field rises the spectactular Dunkery Commons moorland (around 5,500 acres), which leads up to Robin Howe, Webber's Post and Dunkery Beacon.

Porlock Vale Campsite is a wonderful space to enjoy Exmoor’s famous Dark Skies!

The campsite is conveniently located to explore the surrounding Exmoor countryside, moorland, woodland and coast, including Bossington Beach and Porlock Weir, with miles of beautiful walking and cycling. Porlock, Minehead and Dunster are within a few miles, with their pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops and the delightful villages of Luccombe, Horner, Selworthy and Allerford are nearby, including tearooms.

Magnificent mature trees, woodland, hedges and undulating pasture create an idyllic landscape where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful area, with myriad wildlife including buzzards, foxes, hares, rabbits, beavers and water voles - and you may even spot some wild red deer passing through.

The National Trust Holnicote Estate is progressing rewilding and land recovery projects across the area, making it fascinating for campers interested in the environment, biodiversity, climate change and how farming here is adapting to benefit nature. This is also the home of the Exmoor Pony Project where the herd grazes on the farm.

Respect for Nature: Our campsite theme of 'Peace and Tranquility' respects the abundance of wildlife and farm animals living here. So, no amplified music and loud noise, with quiet hours after 10pm. Please use the recycle and rubbish bins provided and leave no trace as this field reverts to its beautiful natural state at the end of the camping season.

On the campsite, there is access to drinking water as well as washing up facilities, toilets and showers.

We can accept tents and tent trailers throughout the camping period, and also a small number of camper vans. The narrow lanes are not suitable for caravans or motorhomes.

This is a new camping field for 2024. In 2020 we ran Porlock Vale Campsite in a field further down the farm and achieved 70 x 10/10 Pitch Up Reviews from delighted campers. We look forward to welcoming you back for 2024.

Porlock Vale Campsite is open from 12 July to 8 Sept 2024. Booking and availability at https://www.pitchup.com/campsites/England/South_West/Somerset/Minehead/porlock-vale-campsite/
